Overview

Tribal dance mask of the Congolese GALOA tribe. Rare and remarkable appearance... Clothed with leather around the headdress, which is made of gourd, with a Galoa figure on top with a necklace of beads and two Kaori shells. Two strings with a wood chin strap to it, onto which another two Kaori shells are adjusted. After the dance, the mask used to be swung around with great speed. On the head of figure is a hole (sometimes a slot), through which it makes some sort of whistling sound. Use and aging patina, but overall in good condition. The stand is just sufficient ... it is nice though, and included in the price.
