Older, ceremonial spoon, ASHANTI people, Ghana, 1960-70
OverviewQuite a rare object, this magnificent, old ceremonial spoon of the ASHANTI people from Ghana. On top a kneeled feminine figure, below the shaft of the spoon, carved with geometric patterns, and finally the bowl of the spoon, which is resting in a hand, as can be seen on the backside. With slight traces of use and aging, this special object is in decently good condition. It has been professionally mounted on a stand, which is included in delivery.
