Older facial CHOKWE mask, D.R. Congo, approx. 1960
OverviewStylistically supremely sculpted facial mask of the CHOKWE tribe, in this case from the D.R. Congo. Great depth and variation, scarification signs and remnants of white Pemba clay, which is smeared onto objects for magic rituals. With light traces of use and aging, the mask is in good condition!
