Extremely rare tribal FULANI head mask, YORUBA, Nigeria, 1900-1910
OverviewExtremely rare, this ancient and intensively used tribal dance mask. It is a head mask of a FULANI head made by a known sculptor from the Yoruba in Nigeria. This hairdo and hairstyle only occur in the Fulani/Peul. It concerns a mask from the egungun masquerade. The split teeth are recognizably Yoruba, while the ears are atypical for the Yoruba. Look carefully at the photos for the condition. On request, I can send a WeTransfer file with more photos. A simple stand will be included in the delivery.
