Old tribal FANTE ATALLA, queen on throne, Ghana, ca 1960
OverviewStriking tribal object, this throne-seated queen of the FANTE with a handheld fan in her hand. The statue is called a Fante Atalla. Archaic statue with the right style characteristics and the right wood. Unfortunately with substantial shrinkage cracks, although the character of the image remains fully intact. The throne is a loose piece. In her hand she has a so-called Abebe, a handheld fan. Face, rings on the neck, the shape of the hair are all stylistically correct. Fair to moderate condition due to shrinkage cracks. Please take a good look at the photos!
