Extremely rare!! Hammer of the Pygmies, DR Congo, ca. 1900

Extremely rare!!! An old Pygmy hammer from around 1900. Authentic object with which the bark was flattened. The Pygmies used two types of hammers. One of ivory and one of wood. The ivory variant was used to collect the juice, liquid from the bark, and one like this, made of wood, was used to flatten the fibres. Truly a rare object, especially in this age and in this excellent condition. Placed on a custom made stand. The point of balance is great... a relatively light object but it hits very precisely and firmly...
