Old authentic tribal talisman, SONGYE, DR Congo, 1940-50
OverviewThis hunting talisman of the Congolese SONGYE is a small, special, quite rare and authentic tribal used object.
This talisman belonged to a Songye hunter and was carried by him. Grass was stuffed into the ears that had been found on the spot where a prey had been killed. This grass is still in one of the ears. Obvious traces of use and aging. A loose foot as shown in the photo is included.
Length: 11 cm, including foot 13 cm
Weight: 32 grams, including foot 70 grams
