Large fire-gilt bronze statue of a Tibetan lama, Gelugpa, Nepal

Beautiful fire-gilt bronze sculpture. Bronze has been treated with hydrochloric acid and mercury and gold powder to give this fire-gilt effect with a deep, varied patina.
