Overview

Kwan Yin is an important figure in Buddhism and Taoist philosophy and is often depicted as a goddess of compassion and mercy. Kwan Yin figurines are associated with compassion, protection and spiritual enlightenment. The statues can be used as a focal point for meditation and prayer, and are often revered as a symbol of spiritual refinement and virtue. Kwan Yin is also called Guanyin, Quan Yin or Kuan Yin.

This is a statuette with many fine details. The bottle she holds in her hand symbolizes a nectar of life. With the chain around her neck she asks Buddhas for help. The ball often depicted between the fingers of Kwan Yin's hand is known as the "Pearl of Enlightenment" or the "Pearl of Wisdom." It symbolizes the enlightenment or insight that Kwan Yin has achieved and also her willingness to share this insight with others. It can also represent Kwan Yin's ability to absorb the concerns of others and help them solve their own problems. The ball can also be seen as a metaphor for the moon, which is associated with feminine energy and mysticism in many cultures.

The statue is in good condition. It is still an "older one", hollow inside and with a stamp on the back. The more recent ones are less refined and massive and flat in appearance.
