Head dance mask of the IBO, Nigeria, ca 1960
OverviewStriking and very beautiful object! this Ibo head that is worn on top of the head as a dance mask. The head has attributes that refer to wealth, prosperity, well-being. Remnants of kaolin colouring are still visible all over the head. Patina is age appropriate. Shrinkage crack is visible in the photos. The head is placed on a foot.
