Overview

Very powerful looking mask, this zoomorphic mask of the Bete people from the Ivory Coast. The Bete are artistically related to, among others. the Dan and the We (Gwere) Influence of these tribes is therefore common. This is also the case here, where stylistic influences from Dan and We are also visible in this Bete mask. Heavy hard wooden decorative mask with glass eyes and a varied patina. It looks like it has been on the ground for a while, so some termite damage is visible. See the pictures
