Two-headed scepter of the HOLOHOLO, DR Congo, 1960-70
OverviewBeautifully carved staff of the Holoholo from the Tanganyika province in the DR Congo. Objects of the Holoholo are offered less frequently. This is a double staff with two heads on it, indicating that the chief had control over two regions.. Very nicely carved! And warm somewhat shiny medium brown color. A few shrinkage cracks as visible in the photos and neatly placed on a custom-made stand that is included.
