Tribal dance mask of the IBO, Nigeria, ca 1960
OverviewOlder tribally used dance mask from the Ibo tribe of Nigeria. This mask is placed on a construction on the head. The bottom is made of woven rattan. On top of that, natural fibers with many curled streamers of iron wire wrapped with strips of colored fabric. The wooden figure is connected to it in a construction of iron wire and natural fibers. Two leopards on top. The head is very beautiful as a sculpture and has glass eyes. I temporarily placed the mask on a stand so it can stand. I'll add that.
