Very old shamanic mask, Middle Hills, Nepal, 1880-1920

Very old shamanic mask. These types of mysterious-looking masks are seen as primitive, shamanistic or village folk art. They are attributed to the local cultures of the hills of Nepal (Magar, Gurung, Tamang or Rai). Its use has long been lost and it is unknown whether the faces are those of ancestors or demons or something else entirely. The mask is placed on a custom-made stand.
