Refined, older ancestor statue, LOBI, Burkina Faso, ca 1950
OverviewStylistically striking, beautifully carved ancestor statue of the Lobi from Burkina Faso. A true Lobi expert can probably trace it back to a cutter. Proud pose in which the hands are over the knees in a squatting position, the chest stands proudly forward and the head is strikingly beautifully carved and radiates a lot of strength. Equally beautiful patina appropriate to use and age. The statue is placed on a base which can easily be removed.
