Rare tribally used shark mask, BIDJOGO, Guinea-Bissau, 1970-80

Quite rare! This shark mask from the Bidjogo tribe, which consists of only approximately 20,000 members and lives spread out on approximately 30 islands called the Bissagos Islands off the coast of Guinea-Bissau. The Bidjogo are particularly known for their buffalo masks. In addition, more colourful masks are used during all kinds of dances and festivities. This is one of them. Tribal used mask in good condition and neatly placed on a custom made stand.
