Lime container of the IFUGAO, Luzon, Philippines, 2nd half of the 20th century
OverviewChewing on the nut of an areca palm is done in many places in Asia. This also applies to the Ifugao. The ingredients for this are stored in these areca nut containers. This one is made from the bone of a karbau on which a lizard is carved. The cap is made of wood and shows the well-known tribal scale of the Ifugao. Beautiful object in good condition!
