Tribally used face mask, IGBO, Nigeria, 1970-80
OverviewStrong, characterful, tribally used face mask of the Igbo. Both contrasting and harmonious. Kaolin has been well preserved. Sharp facial features and a lot of depth. Evident traces of use and some age. The Igbo still actively experience their culture and traditions. The mask has a few smaller chips on the back and a little insect damage. Not disturbing, by the way. See the photos!
