Kuba fetish oracle basket, DR Congo, ca 1950

Rare! Complete Kuba fetish oracle basket with contents and in an amazingly good condition! A basket like this stood at a family home. They then consulted a shaman who came by, whereby the basket was brought out and used by the shaman. In this case focused on issues surrounding agriculture and more specifically on the harvest. The shaman then used the attributes from the basket to answer questions. The basket contains, among other things, a bag with contents wrapped in cloth and threads, a calabash, animal bone, animal horn, a wooden pot in which tukula powder has been placed, shells, jungle nuts, old iron bar ... The basket is beautifully made and is in an excellent condition! Very special object for the lover of authentic tribally used pieces! Price in a gallery is at least double!
