Very old hunting fetish, BANGU BANGU, DR Congo, ca 1900

Very old authentic tribal piece, this personal hunting fetish of the Bangu Bangu. MFundi said the previous owner. Bangu Bangu also falls under that more or less but is more specific. Small tribe, Kusu style is also visible which is correct for that area. A beautiful object with a rock-solid patina and appearance. A hard wooden statue. The opened mouth is striking and what is also striking is the hand-forged nail on the forehead. Around the neck a piece of animal skin. The patina is so much more beautiful in real life than in the photos! Object could very well be older than 1900. 1900 is therefore a safe estimate. This hunting fetish was owned by a hunter. The statue is placed on a specially made foot which is of course included.
