Old hardwood shaman statue, Nepal, 1st half of the 20th century

Old hard wooden shaman statue from Nepal. Figure in the old style with a chain around the neck and strikingly decorated hands. Cuts are visible on the back. Could be from rituals with a knife, but it could also be that the piece of wood was used for something else before it was made into a statue. Not unusual in places where wood is sometimes scarce and everything available is used... In addition to the sharp nose, the face has minimalist interventions for the mouth and eyes. Serene appearance. Part of the right leg disappeared at some point. Must have been a long time ago because the patina shows no difference from the rest. The statue is mounted on a heavy iron plate.. (made in Nepal before shipping). Personally, if someone abroad buys it, I would take it off. Only makes shipping costs higher)
