Plinius, Roman scientist, 5th-6th century, found in Tongeren

Beautiful small head of the Roman scholar Plinius. Gaius Plinius Secundus maior, nicknamed maior, or the Elder, in distinction from his cousin Plinius the Younger of the same name, was a Roman soldier, man of letters and amateur scientist. Very refined terra cotta head in exceptionally good condition!

It is neatly placed on a custom-made stand.
